Lovely Bones

Earlier today a bent over and my side felt sore. I put my hand to my side and felt something solid. At first I was like WTF. Then I felt more and I realized it was a bone. I laughed at myself. This was my second time discovering a bone. My first discovery was my hip bone. I am by no means skinny. You can't see the bones (I hope I never do) . But I definitely feel them. I have never felt those bones before. And every time I discover a new one, it takes me by complete surprise.

That sounds strange right? Discovering your own bones. But I have
never felt bones in those places before. It's a weird feeling for me. All those bones under all that fat. I don't know what's normal. Very surreal. Also make me sad that I was so far removed, not only from the world and other people, but my own body.

My own body is a stranger to me. I don't think I would be able to pick myself out of a lineup. I still look in the mirror and see the same body. I have absolutely no idea what my body is capable of. I'm learning about my body everyday. Like a baby learning her own strength.

So don't be surprised if you see me walking around touching myself. When I discover a new bone, I feel it all day and giggle.
